Bibliophilia is a tabletop exhibition that explores the subtle correspondences forming networks of affinities between artists. There is a rustle, the murmur of a low-voiced discussion passing from one studio to another. It's an inextricably formal, political, theoretical and sentient discussion, rumblings of images and words, artists talking, often through the work of other artists, sometimes dead for centuries, about the urgent question of their current and future work. To make this noise perceptible, two artists have invited six others to a game of correspondence: take a book, a monograph or an

exhibition catalog, and use it as an artistic medium, thus transforming it to an open letter to the others. This epistolary exchange, a collage of collages and a fragment of an ongoing discussion through images, will form a miniature exhibition of eight books opened on a large console table in the reception room of the French consulate in New York. A temporal, cultural and geopolitical threshold, a liminal space in its image.
